This position plays a critical role in maintaining the reliability and efficiency of crushing operations. The successful candidate will focus on preventative maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and executing corrective actions to minimize downtime while ensuring all work is performed safely and professionally in a demanding, camp‑based mining environment.

Main responsibilities

Maintenance & Reliability

  • Reduce equipment downtime through effective troubleshooting and execution of preventative maintenance programs
  • Perform preventive maintenance, routine inspections, and general repairs on crushing equipment
  • Detect mechanical irregularities and diagnose equipment malfunctions
  • Perform corrective maintenance on planned and unplanned equipment failures

Mechanical & Welding Work

  • Dismantle, repair, replace, and reassemble mechanical components including motors, pumps, conveyors, belts, fans, reducers, and related equipment
  • Repair or replace defective crusher components (PM‑type and related equipment), both scheduled and unscheduled
  • Fabricate components, brackets, and parts required for repair, maintenance, or installation when necessary
  • Perform rebuilding and mechanical troubleshooting on various systems

Safety & Professional Standards

  • Promote, comply with, and enforce all site health and safety policies and regulations
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times
  • Work independently or collaboratively as required to meet operational demands
  • Participate actively in continuous improvement initiatives, processes, and maintenance procedures

Qualifications and skills sought

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Certified Millwright (433A) or actively in the process of completing certification
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in a crushing or heavy industrial environment
  • Surface Miner Common Core certificate (an asset)

Technical Skills:

  • Strong experience with conveyors and belt systems
  • Practical knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, reducers, and mechanical drive systems
  • Experience with machinery rebuilding, diagnostics, and troubleshooting
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications
