We are currently looking for a Payroll Master to join our accounting team, either in Rouyn-Noranda or New Liskeard.
Main responsibilities

Manage the entire payroll process (preparation, processing, verification) for over 200 employees;

Verify time sheets daily and follow up with supervisors or employees as necessary;

Keep payroll system information up to date;

Manage group insurance files and ensure required follow-ups;

Enter all data related to employee files: hiring, termination, position changes, salary adjustments, vacations, illnesses, garnishments, child support, etc.;

Produce required reports for government remittances and suppliers;

Perform year-end tasks (T4, Relevés 1);

Prepare employment records;

Perform certain accounting entries;

Carry out other related tasks as needed.
Qualifications and skills sought
-
3 to 5 years of relevant experience;

DEC, BAC, and/or other equivalent training/experience in accounting or administration;

Member of the National Payroll Institute (INP) (an asset);

Good knowledge of English (essential to communicate with English-speaking employees and supervisors from the Ontario division);

Proficient in Office Suite, particularly Excel (intermediate level required);

Ability to meet tight deadlines;

Independence, discretion, attention to detail, and initiative;

Resourcefulness and team spirit.
